Refinishing, Repairs, & Texture
We see refinishing as an opportunity to bring your hardwood floors back to life.
Our goal is to respect the craftsmanship of your existing floors while creating a refreshed surface that feels right for your home and is built for everyday living. A full refinish removes the existing finish and sands the wood to create a fresh surface, allowing us to address wear and damage while reimagining the color, tone, and overall feel of your space. Our specialty also lies in adding texture back through wire-brushing and hand scraping. Whether you’re looking to for a modern clean surface or a boot-worn rustic feel, we have you covered.
-
Together, we’ll review the condition of your floors, discuss your goals, and help you choose your desired stain color and finish sheen. Before beginning work, you can expect to clear the space of furniture, rugs, and personal belongings. Our dustless sanding system works to minimize debris in the home, but we’ll also discuss any covering and additional surface protections.
-
We sand the existing finish away, working through a series of sanding steps to create a smooth, even surface. Where possible, we address minor imperfections, gaps, and damaged areas before completing the final sanding and preparing the wood for its new finish. The results depend on the floor’s condition and the type of damage present.
-
This is an opportunity to change the tone of your floors or highlight the natural grain and character of the wood. If you choose a stained floor, Everette and team will provide on-floor samples for your review. Each coat needs the appropriate time to dry before the next step. Once the final coat is applied, we’ll provide clear instructions for foot traffic, furniture, rugs, and cleaning. Drying and full curing are different, so the floor may need additional time before returning to normal use.
-
A full refinish is more involved than a deep clean or recoat, but it offers the greatest opportunity to address surface wear and update the look of your hardwood floors. Some deep gouges, structural issues, and permanent stains may require additional repairs or may not be fully removable.
